🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE: CANINE PARVOVIRUS OUTBREAK 🚨

The National Veterinary Hospital would like to inform the general public of an ongoing increase in parvovirus cases being presented at our facility.

Canine parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease that primarily affects unvaccinated puppies and dogs. The virus spreads easily through direct contact with infected dogs, as well as contaminated surfaces, equipment, clothing, and footwear.

Measures Implemented at the Hospital:

* Strict triage protocols have been established for all incoming patients to identify and separate suspected cases immediately.
* The entire hospital premises, including consultation rooms, vaccination rooms, wards, and equipment, are undergoing frequent and thorough disinfection using appropriate virucidal agents.
* Confirmed and suspected cases are being treated in designated isolation wards with dedicated staff and equipment.

Important Advisory for Pet Owners:

* Routine sterilization (spay/neuter) services, normally conducted every Tuesday and Thursday, is temporarily suspended until further notice.
* Avoid bringing healthy pets to the hospital unless absolutely necessary.
* Do not leash-walk your dogs to the hospital. Instead, transport them in secure pet carriers to reduce environmental contamination.
* Ensure your pets are fully vaccinated.
* Avoid taking your dogs to public areas such as parks or places where dogs congregate during this period.
* Practice good hygiene: disinfect footwear, wash hands thoroughly after handling pets, and avoid contact with sick animals.

Signs of Parvovirus Infection Include:

* Severe vomiting
* Bloody diarrhea
* Lethargy and weakness
* Loss of appetite
* Fever

If your pet shows any of these signs, seek veterinary care immediately.

We kindly request the cooperation of all pet owners in adhering to these guidelines to help control the spread of infection and protect the wider animal community.

Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.
